Pitti Uomo Tailored Separates – June 2016

June 21st, 2016

Exchanging a grey London for the warmer climes of Florence last week, we ventured off to Pitti Uomo’s SS17 event.

Taking a diversion from the usual focus on the finest peacocking known to man, this season’s gathering was a decidedly more casual affair with a strong leaning toward street style and tailored separates – lots of denim, beige and monochrome along with colourful floral prints, deconstructed jackets and trousers. However, there were still plenty of finely tailored suits in attendance, getting the attention they deserved, particularly those with a more eccentric edge (see Nick Wooster’s short sleeved suit jacket in GQ’s round up below).

As well as the serious business of hobnobbing with the great and good of menswear and Savile Row tailoring, we were fortunate to bump into our good friend, the photographer, Robert Spangle (of 1000 Yard Style fame) snapping street style looks for British GQ. We also caught up with Albert Thurston (our braces supplier), Fox Brothers’ Korean agent, Sam, and the chaps from Huddersfield Fine Worsteds in all their finery (Geoff, we’re talking about your tailored separates in the form of trousers and matching bag combo here). A few of our snaps can be seen below with further links to a round-up of all the looks at the event at the bottom of the page.
